Recreational Use Cannabis in Minnesota
The Governor of Minnesota in 2018 argued that legalizing cannabis would bring a valuable new source of tax revenue along with long overdue justice for the many people in jail over minor drug offenses. A bill was introduced in 2019 to allow adults 21 and over to purchase, grow, and possess limited quantities of cannabis. The measure was voted down in the Senate, leaving several proposals remaining under consideration in the house, such as to let voters decide the fate of legalizing recreational cannabis use in Minnesota.
