Registering as a Patient

To get started, patients will need a recommendation from a licensed doctor for medical marijuana (you can see a MO medical card provider or have a Telemedicine appt.).  For any questions or FAQ’s, click on the MO DHSS site.  You need a valid photo ID and proof of residency will also need to be supplied, as well as a recent selfie. Patients register for their medical marijuana card on a platform called Complia which is operated by the Department of Health and Senior Services. There are two separate fees that growers must be aware of:

  • Registration Fee of $25
  • Grow Registration Fee of $100 – This fee is only applicable if the patient chooses to have their cannabis seeds grown by a caregiver.

Acceptable Amounts

This is very important for patients to maintain a safe amount of marijuana in the home. The maximum allowed dried marijuana within 30 days is 4 ounces, and are allowed to possess no more than a 2 month supply in total.

Plant Numbers

In terms of the number of plants, patients can grow 6 plants that are flowering at one time. Missouri residents can also have 6 NON-flowering plants along with 6 clones. A plant is considered to be non-flowering plants and 6 flowering plants can exceed 14 inches in height whereas the 6 clones must be UNDER 14 inches in height.
