Marijuana is one of the most common terms used to mean the same thing as cannabis buds derived from the female cannabis plant. Marijuana has been around for centuries and has many slang terms, all which refer to dried cannabis flower, and include weed, pot, ganja, bud, Mary Jane, grass, Doobie, joint, hash, hashish, and 420. Only the female cannabis plant produces marijuana flower that contains THC, or delta 9, the most prominent cannabinoid that people are most familiar with for the psychoactive high marijuana provides.

Marijuana plants produce a variety of cannabinoids, including THC, CBD, CBG, CBN, and others, that prove to provide significant medicinal benefits thus, many states have legalized medical marijuana programs. Many states have also legalized the recreational use of marijuana, although it still remains illegal on the federal level. Marijuana is consumed by smoking, vaporizing, dabbing, in pill form, applying to the skin through topical methods such as oils, creams, lotions, and patches, and through a variety of edibles such as Gummies, cookies, drink mix powders, chocolates, and many more variations.
