Hexahydrocannabinol (HHC) is a minor cannabinoid that occurs naturally in trace amounts in the cannabis plant. Because it occurs naturally in such small amounts, it is often produced synthetically through a process called hydrogenation. HHC is a derivative of both delta-9 and delta-8 THC but can also be made from cannabidiol (CBD). It is reported to produce similar effects to THC, including anti-inflammatory, antinausea, and appetite-inducing properties, which make it useful for conditions such as chronic pain and insomnia and helping to ease the side effects of chemotherapy.
