Cultivation of cannabis is primarily for the production of cannabis. Commercial growers will cultivate large amounts of cannabis for sale to other cannabis businesses like dispensaries, whereas the recreational or medical marijuana patient can cultivate a certain amount of plant for their own personal consumption.
