Cannabidivarin, also known as CBDV, is a cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant that is structurally similar to cannabidiol (CBD). CBDV is like CBD in that it does not cause psychoactive effects, meaning it will not get you high. CBDV does, however, show promise in various studies to make certain nerve cells involved in inflammation, seizures, pain, and other conditions less active, which can improve those conditions. CBDV is also shown to improve nausea and long-term inflammation in the digestive tract.

More research is needed on this powerful cannabinoid, and GW Pharmaceuticals, the company that developed the first FDA-approved CBD drug for seizures, Epidiolex, is also currently developing a CBDV-based drug to prevent or reduce seizures from epilepsy.
