The endocannabinoid system (ECS) regulates and controls many critical bodily functions, including memory, learning, sleep, pain and temperature control, emotional processing, appetite, immune responses, and inflammation. The ECS consists of a vast network of cellular receptors and chemical signals densely packed throughout our bodies and our brains.

There are two types of cannabis receptors, CB1 and CB2. CB1 receptors are more prominent in the brain but are present in other areas, including the spinal cord, liver, pancreas, gastrointestinal tract, reproductive system, and other areas. Learn more about the endocannabinoid system, cannabinoids and cannabinoid receptors.
