An oil rig, also called a dab rig, is an apparatus that is used to smoke cannabis concentrates such as CO2 oil, rosin, butane hash oil (BHO), shatter, or other concentrates. The oil rig is typically made out of glass that can resemble a traditional bong, although unlike a bong, an oil rig is designed to withstand high temperatures to vaporize concentrate. The nail is the main part of the rig that holds the dab concentrate, which is then heated with a butane torch that can exceed temperatures of 600° to 700°F. Users inhale the vapor through a mouthpiece on the oil rig.
